VISIT TO TEMPLE OF LEAH: THE TESTAMENT OF UNDYING LOVE

This is a photo and video journal of my budget travel to Cebu featuring my visit to the Temple of Leah. This magnificent edifice is a testament to undying love.

The commemorative plate reads:
" I built this Temple in 2012 A.D. as a symbol of undying love for and ceaseless devotion LEAH ALBINO ADARNA, my wife for 53 years.

In honor of her lifetime passion, Leah's collection of antiques, books, special objects and memorabilia amassed from our foreign trips are enshrined and well-preserved inside the 24 chambers of this temple.

To erect this grand edifice, I cut the top of a mountain where it gracefully rises.

The classic and architectural design of this temple took its inspiration from a world heritage site, the Parthenon of Greece- an important monument dedicated to the patron-goddess Athena and admired for more than 2500 years.

Using advanced construction technology, this temple is built to withstand the test of time and is hoped to last its grandeur and beauty in the next 3000 years"

GETTING THERE

The temple is situated on the elevated mountain portion of the Cebu Transcentral highway which is 1-hour taxi ride on a normal traffic flow from Cebu Mactan International Airport. Visitors can gaze upon the breathtaking view of the Cebu skyline against the blue sea as its backdraft.

ARCHITECTURAL INSPIRATION
As written in the inscription above, the architectural inspiration behind this structure is the classical Parthenon of Greece with its doric capital and circular fluted columns.

A Greek goddess holding a Cornucopia (horn of plenty): Made from the horn of the goat Amaltheia, Cornucopia was believed to provide an inexhaustible supply of food and drink, whenever needed. It symbolizes the infinite nature of the universe and the endless flow of energy all around. It also emphasizes the importance of giving and taking.
