This is a photo and video journal of our travel to the magnificent province of Bohol featuring day 2 of our travel itinerary - visit Tagbilaran Church, not just a religious edifice but a cultural heritage that withstood the test of times.

On October 15, 2013, the island of Bohol was shaken by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake. Most of the Roman Catholic old church buildings that are considered as cultural heritage were badly damaged & until our visit still lies in ruins.

The gates
I was fascinated by the carvings on the entrance gate. I believe they are the facade of largely Roman Catholic cathedrals in Europe.

The votive candle rack is placed at the back of the church building. This is where the devotees offer their prayer by lighting a candle. |
