Emu
Dromaius Novahollandiae
I am Emu and I am the second-largest bird you will see on this planet. I can weigh up to 130 pounds and I can also reach a height of 5 to 6.5 feet. When there is little food around, I can survive for a long period of time without it by using the stored fat I have as an energy source.
Gibbon
Hylobatidae
The signboard reads:
Us gibbons are many, with four genera and species existing. You can find us from northeastern India to southern China all the way to Borneo. We live in the tropical and subtropical rainforests of these areas. We move from one place by brachiating which is moving by using the arms from branch to branch. This can help us through the jungle at a speed of up to 35 miles per hour.
Reticulated Giraffe
Girafa Camelopardalis Reticulate
The signboard reads:
The tallest living animal. The name giraffe is derived from the Arabic word "safarah" which means "one who walks swiftly."
Area: Inhabits Eastern Africa and game reserves in South Africa
Habitat: Dry savanna and open woodlands
Diet: In the wild acacia leaves, shoot of trees, shrubs & some fruits. In the safari balete leaves, langka, manggo, bayante, acacia fruits, and pellets plus mineral supplement.
Lifespan: The lifespan of a giraffe is 26 years in the wild and 25 - 28 years in captivity.
Conservation status: Vulnerable
Fun facts: Giraffe necks comprise almost half its total height, even though the neck is so long the number of neckbones is the same as humans but are much larger.

Horse
Striped Hyena
Hyaena Hyaena
The signboards reads:
I am Lebanon's national animal and I hail mostly from the northern & eastern part of Africa. My kind and I live in savannahs, sub-desserts, areas with thorny shrubs as well as mountains, grasslands, & forests.
Unlike the spotted hyaenas, we striped hyaenas don't usually make some noise , choosing to communicate with our body's movement.
Our worst enemies are lions & hunting dogs. In the wild, I can live up to 12 years, in captivity, without predators, I can live up to 25 years.
Thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteThe group of us Kaithu boys decided to take the Cart Road which now is called the Circular Road. From Loretto Convent which we used to call Tara Hall, we could walk all the way to Mashobra. I have written adventure articles on this road in my other posts. This was not our preferred road of choice on other days, because this was lonely and scary.
