Nature Tripping at Cebu Safari And Adventure Park Part-3

January 16, 2019
Mabuhay!

This is a photo and video journal of my nature tripping travel at Carmen, Cebu featuring my visit to Cebu Safari and Adventure Park, a close encounter with magnificent wild animals.
African Savannah
Savannah is a large, flat area of land covered with grass with few trees, that is found in hot countries, especially in Africa. This is a favorite breeding ground for magnificent wild animals. But the good news is that you don't need to go as far as Africa to enjoy the safari adventure. Cebu Safari and Adventure Park offer this family-oriented, fun-filled experience in viewing animals, not in their cages but in their natural habitat.

The signboard reads:
Step into an adventure like no other in the Cebu Safari & Adventure Park! This exciting African Savannah exhibit is a five (5) minute tour that includes seeing a herd of zebras, Greater Kudos, Blesboks, Impala, Wildebeest, and more roaming around their natural habitat. Please be patient as you wait for your turn to get into the safari truck to take you on this wild journey.

Orangutan
Pongo Pygmaeus

The signboard reads:
We are the largest tree-dwelling animals on earth, and our name derived from the Malay & Indonesian words "Orang" meaning "person" and "Bhutan" meaning "forest." We are the only great apes of Asia and we originate from Borneo.
Living in the forest, we camouflage very well because of the little sunlight that filters through the dense canopy. It reflects green light and absorbs the red-orange light that is similar to the color of our coat.
We are very smart and strong too. Our strength is to be 7 times stronger than human strength. Yet, we are gentle creatures and can sit for hours just grazing.
We are omnivores and we love to eat leaves, shoots, fruits and even bird eggs.

Many people think my kind and I spend all our time in the water but the truth is, the majority of our time is spent on land. Still, my kind and I are great divers, sealing our ears and noses when we go diving. We can dive up to 300 feet just to look for food. We can also hold our breaths underwater for food. Visayan Warty Pigs
Sus Cebifrons
The signboard read:
My family and I can only be found on 2 small islands in the Philippines and we are critically endangered.
We lived in the forest and eat fruits, tubers, vegetable crops, roots, and leaves. You can hear us squeaking, grunting, and making short, high-pitched noises as this is how we comminate with one another in the wild.
When in the wild, I can survive from 10 to 15 years.
