Mabuhay!
This is a photo and video journal of our travels to the magnificent province of Bohol, including a visit to Panglao Island, one of the region's best nature-tripping attractions. Bus Ride from Tagbilaran City to Panglao Island
Our travel itinerary includes a tricycle ride from our pension house in Tagbilaran City to the city's bus station going to Panglao Island at 5am just the break of dawn. During the bus ride, we pass through the island's major road gazing at some old and most likely historical buildings that are mostly residential and religious buildings. Then we stop by the newly constructed Bohol-Panglao International Airport - a world-class aviation hub serving this region. Then we alighted near the open ground plaza of San Augustine Church locally known as the Panglao Church. Then from there on, we roamed around the nearby vicinity on foot. We get to know a glimpse of this beautiful island paradise that surely captivated my heart.

Bohol - Panglao International Airport
Also known as New Bohol International Airport, is an international airport on Panglao Island in the province of Bohol, Philippines. It replaced Tagbilaran Airport to support Bohol's increased passenger traffic due to tourism. The airport is dubbed the first eco-airport in the Philippines and the country's green gateway.
The airport is officially classified as an international airport by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.
The airport serves as the gateway to Tagbilaran and the rest of mainland Bohol for domestic air travelers. It also is less than an hour's flight from Mactan–Cebu International Airport, which is a gateway to the central Philippines for international tourists.

I had the privilege to chat with this team of contractors headed by this lady. They work for an Italian company specializing in the fabrication and installation of church bells. |
|
To the rear side of the church building, further off to the seashore, stands a 5-story bell tower built of cut stone in 1851. Octagon in shape and covered by a pitched roof, the tower is said to be the tallest of its kind in the Philippines. This tower as a heritage of the past needs urgent restoration. |
