BUDGET TRAVEL TO HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM DAY 2 PART 2

March 24, 2018
MABUHAY!
This is part 2 photo and video journal of our second-day budget travel to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

GETTING THERE
The taxi ride from Phan Dinh Phung street is around 35 minutes. We had a lot of fun traveling around the city enjoying every sights and scenery our eyes gazed upon. The taxi driver is also very nice and jolly person although we only communicate through GOOGLE Translate.

ROAMING AROUND BINH TAY MARKET
Binh Tay market is locally known as the central market of CHO LON which is a fusion of Vietnamese and Chinese commercial establishments. The main building was closed during our visit due to construction renovation. The architectural facade of the main market building is highly influenced by European architecture.

THE STALLS
Our travel to a foreign country will never be complete without a visit to a public market. They say that the marketplace is the pulse of the community where you can meet local people in their day to day mode of life. Binh Tay market is teeming with crowds, goods, vegetables, fruits, meats and other merchandise. Most of the stalls are relocated within the proximity to give way to the ongoing renovation of the main market building.

BUS RIDE FROM BINH TAY MARKET TO PHAN DINH PHUNG  STREET
We noticed that there is a bus station near the marketplace so we asked some locals if buses are passing to Phan Dinh Phung street where our accommodation is located. We learned that the first bus we ride is only up to the Ho Chi Minh downtown area. We ride another bus to reach our destination.

They say that when there are crowds of local people in a queue on a food stall, for sure the food there is good. As for this shop selling sugar cane juice, a large number of locals wait in line to buy.
