BUDGET TRAVEL TO HANOI, VIETNAM: HO CHI MINH MAUSOLEUM & PRESIDENTIAL PALACE

March 26, 2018
MABUHAY!
This is a photo and video journal of our budget travel to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

BREAKFAST
Typical we see in Vietnam street food stalls customers seated in the small plastic stool and eating their meal in low tables. But this restaurant has no low table only small plastic stools. But the food here is fresh and delicious.

This meal is a combination of fresh grated vegetables, bread, and cold cuts

You can put hot sauce on top

PHAN DINH PHUNG STREET
Phan Dinh Phung is a famous Vietnamese hero that is why another major street in Hanoi is named after him just like in Ho Chi Minh City formerly Saigon. This street is shaded with canopy trees with a very wide sidewalk. Most of the structures you can see here are government buildings and most of them are really very old.

ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF HANOI - QUEEN OF MARTYRS
Vietnam is a socialist country, meaning the government controls the economy but allows their citizens to express their belief in God. This church building caught my attention during my stroll on Phan Dinh Pung street.

HANOI PARK
This is what I like also in Hanoi. You can see a lot of open public spaces like parks and plazas where one can rest and relax.

HO CHI MINH MAUSOLEUM
Vietnam's revolutionary hero is buried here. Ho Chi Minh is his Chinese name. His Vietnamese name is Nguyen Sinh Cung.

PRESIDENTIAL PALACE
The seat of power of Vietnam is located in Hanoi. The president's palace and other government buildings are painted with a yellow color and they are heavily guarded by the military.

Magnificent Vietnam's presidential palace.
