DISCOVER ANGKOR TEMPLE COMPLEX, CAMBODIA - THE ANGKOR WAT
March 30, 2018 MABUHAY!
This is a photo and video journal of our budget travel to Siem Reap, Cambodia featuring our visit to the Angkor Wat, the most famous temple in the Angkor temple complex. BREAKFAST TIME
We took our noodle and coffee breakfast in a local Cambodian eatery. I was so grateful that they accepted our last remaining Thai Baht currency here.
THE FIRST STOP: THE ANGKOR WAT
How can you describe this spectacular work of art in one article?
The Angkor Temple complex is built over 400 sq. km of land area within the span of 7 centuries. It is the largest religious monument in the world.
Angkor Wat which means "Temple City", is the most preserved temple in the complex. It was constructed by Khmer King Suryavarman II dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu gradually transforming into Buddhist temple.

Pre Angkorian period, 7th century
This statue of Vishnu appears with four arms; one holding a conch shell, a chakra (disk), a mace and a ball. These items represent the fundamental elements of the cosmos which are the water, fire, wind, and earth.
At the entrance, you'll be asked to show your ticket.

The guards told us not to wear short to pay respect when entering the temple. I have no other option but to wear my wife's blue "WINNIE THE POOH" pajama.😆😆😆
The weather is so hot that my wife and I covered our head with a scarf.
