NATURE TRIPPING AT HUNDRED ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK, ALAMINOS CITY, PANGASINAN

December 29, 2016
MABUHAY!

This is a photo journal of our island hopping travel adventure in Hundred Islands National Park, Alaminos City Pangasinan

GOING THERE
We started our journey at 4:00 am from Angeles City. When I checked out our destination a night before on GOOGLE MAP, the total distance is around 164 kilometers from Angeles City to Alaminos City and the approximate travel time is around 4 hours. For this kind of long-distance road trip, I always advise having a GPS- Good Paper Sketch (lol) and lots of friendly smiles when you need to ask some local folks for some direction because most of the time, the roads are very confusing especially during night time.

BREAKFAST TIME

When we arrived at Alaminos City, we took breakfast at local canteen where they serve our all-time favorite Goto, Lugaw (rice porridge) and Pansit gisado (noodles) and coffee. Then we headed off to Barangay Lucap, the home of the Hundred Islands.

ISLAND HOPPING
From the cluster of around 124 islands that comprises the Hundred Island national park, 5 of the biggest islands have various activities at different rates per hour from snorkeling to jet ski riding. If you're on a tight budget, you can just stroll around with your camera to take some pictures or selfie. Also, swimming is free. By the way, you can bring along your own food, snacks, and drinks. Food prices within the national park are around 2-3 times higher than the regular prices.

GOVERNOR'S ISLAND
This island has the highest peak within the national park. The climb upstairs from the viewing deck at the summit is, if my memory serves me right, more than 150 steps. But once you're up there, you'll be amazed by the magnificent view of the beauty that only nature can offer.

MARCOS ISLAND
Our boatman/guide informed us that due to high waves, Marcos island is off-limits to the public, hmm very interesting.

 CHILDREN'S ISLAND
Due to the shallow depth of the water, children love to swim here. That is why this island is called children's island.

GOING BACK TO LUCAP WHARF
